FULL-TIME ASSISTANT TEACHER

Les Lilas is an independent, French American bilingual school that uses the Montessori Method and serves an international community of preschool to 5th grade students in Kirkland, WA.

Les Lilas offers an academic, bilingual program using Montessori Pedagogy and has a student body of more than 80 students from preschool through 5th grade (ages 3-11). We are currently recruiting a full-time Assistant Teacher for our school. Do you love working with young children? Duties include:

  • The Assistant Teacher works in close cooperation with and under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. The Assistant Teacher supports both the English and the French curriculum teachers in conducting the student’s program in a manner that is in keeping with both the highest standards of professional competence and ethics, and with Montessori mission and values. This position reports to the Lead Teacher.
  • The Assistant Teacher is responsible for providing support with educational lessons and activities to teachers.
  • This position will assist with the preparation of classroom materials and/or displays for lessons planned and executed by the teacher.
  • The Assistant Teacher will help with classroom duties, enforce classroom rules, and provide general care and supervision to children enrolled in our school.

Hours: 8:00 a.m.–3:15 p.m. from Monday through Friday

Requirements:

  • At least two years of recent experience working with children
  • Proficiency in French & English
  • A passion for working with students from pre-K to 5th grade
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Highly skilled in collaborative teamwork within a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is a plus
  • Experience in bilingual/dual language and international, independent education
  • Washington credentials and certifications (45 and/or 90-hour course work) OR Montessori Assistant training course.
  • Must have earned an associate degree or higher with approved courses in Early Childhood Education WA

Start Date: April 2024

Salary Range: $37,000–$45,000

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Head of school to oversee the daily operational activities of our school. Job Opportunity
The Assistant to the Head of School will play a vital role in supporting the Head of School, staff, students, and families to bring the school’s educational vision to life. This individual will be actively involved in daily operations, strategic planning, and the implementation of Les Lilas’ bilingual and Montessori-inspired programs. Les Lilas is accredited by the French Ministry of Education for programs ranging from preschool to 2nd grade.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaboration with Leadership:
• Support the Head of School in policy development, communication, and community engagement.
• Assist in staff recruitment and professional development initiatives.
• Support strategic initiatives, including student retention and community growth.

Management and Program Coordination:
• Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, classroom support, and events.
• Coordinate extracurricular programs and parent engagement initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between families, staff, and administrative teams.

Community Engagement and Communication:
• Foster strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Assist in organizing and executing school events such as fundraising campaigns and open houses.
• Contribute to newsletters, parent communications, and other school materials.

Daily Operations:
• Welcome and support families and students during arrivals and dismissals.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming campus environment.
• Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Fluency in French and English (bilingual proficiency strongly desired).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in education or school administration, ideally in a bilingual or Montessori environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Montessori principles and bilingual educational frameworks is a plus.

  • Flexibility, positivity, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Cultural competency and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and other relevant technology platforms.

Salary Range: $70,000–$75,000 based on education and experience, with additional benefits.

FULL-TIME SCHOOL LIFE ASSISTANT

Les Lilas is an independent, French American bilingual school that uses the Montessori Method and serves an international community of preschool to 5th grade students in Kirkland, WA.

Les Lilas offers an academic, bilingual program using Montessori Pedagogy and has a student body of more than 80 students from preschool through 5th grade (ages 3-11). We are currently recruiting a full-time School Life Assistant for our school to supervise lunches and recess during the school day and assist with the smooth running of our After-School program.

Duties include:

  • Preparing and distributing school lunches
  • Actively supervising recesses and lunchtime
  • Monitoring the upkeep of common spaces
  • Chaperoning children from one building to another
  • Preparing and setting up equipment for After-School activities (laptops, sports gear, musical instruments…)
  • Guiding Découverte instructors to their locations
  • Ensuring safe and smooth child dispatch to their respective activities
  • Checking classrooms to ensure After-School activities are running smoothly
  • Tidying up classrooms and activity areas at the end of the After-School program
  • Supervising camps during school vacations

Hours: 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday

Requirements:
