We have 6 multi-age classrooms: three La Maternelle classes for pre-K to kindergarten (ages 3–6); 2 L'Élémentaire class for 1st through 3rd grade (ages 6–9); and one La Grande Élémentaire class for 4th and 5th grade (ages 9–11). On average, our classes have 15 students (and never more than 20), with a student to teacher ratio of 8:1.
Of course! Children who don't speak any French can enroll at Les Lilas through kindergarten, and they will receive specialized language support through our FLE program (Français Langue Étrangère, or French as a Second Language). Unfortunately, children who have never been enrolled in a French language school or program cannot be admitted after kindergarten.
Students have to be 3 years old by December 31.
Yes, children have to be potty trained. A child who is in the process of being potty trained will not reap the full benefits of our program. Please note that pull-ups are not allowed during school hours.

There is a mandatory 45-minute relaxation time for our La Maternelle students. However, we work closely with parents to decide if a nap or a quiet activity is best suited to their child.
